It is in the form of a thread where each element is differentiated by its color and a pictogram.
The information event, in blue, indicates a state change in the product, such as updates or the first hybrid inverter first operation. The alerts, in yellow, warn of a non-critical annoyance in the operation of the inverter, such as a power outage or a battery not connected. The communication problems, in grey with a chain icon, warn of a loss of data transmission with the inverter external components (internet, smart-meter, battery). Significant malfunctions for the inverter, in red, indicate a critical damage to the hybrid inverter. The violations of the normal operating conditions defined in the specifications of the hybrid inverter show in black. A detected violation removes the warranty in the event of operational problems that subsequently occur. For example, if the power consumed on the secured output exceeds the tolerated overload curve provided in the user manual, an event will be activated and visible from the timeline.
In the near future, events may be set by the user, such as exceeding a power threshold produced by photovoltaic panels or the crossing of a percentage of battery charge level. These events allow you to personalize your experience and display what matters to you.
On the installer side, a detailed table view with built-in filters can diagnose the events that have occurred to trace their origin through a detailed walk. More advanced diagnostic tools under development will help determine the causal relationships between certain events and errors that damaged the hybrid inverter to simplify the timeline analysis.

The IMEON hybrid inverter offers multiple operating modes (smart grid, on-grid, off-grid and backup) that can be configured from the IMEON OS. ONE application.

These operating modes have been integrated to meet requirements of various projects by changing the energy flow priorities.

The Smart Grid mode, which is the default mode, optimizes the self-production of the solar system by using photovoltaic production to supply the loads connected to the IMEON hybrid inverter, then charging the battery in case of solar production’s surplus. The loads will be powered by energy coming directly from the solar array, then from the batteries in case if solar production is not sufficient, then from the public grid in case batteries are discharged or charging. This mode of operation is meant to increase the self-production rate and make the house as autonomous as possible.

The backup mode prioritizes the charging of the batteries over self-production. This operating mode increases the availability of power stored in the battery and thus makes it possible to prolong the site’s autonomy in the event of grid outage. Photovoltaic production will be used primarily to charge the batteries, then to power loads connected to the IMEON hybrid inverter in case of surplus solar production and fully charged battery. The loads will be supplied by the surplus solar production supplemented, if necessary by the public electricity grid. The battery will be used only when the grid is not present. This mode of operation is recommended for a project on sites experiencing poor or unstable supply of electricity from the grid.

The On-Grid mode is used in the case of an installation without the storage. In this mode the inverter will simply feed the totality of the photovoltaic plant’s production to the loads using the electricity grid. The surplus production will be exported. The On-Grid mode may be used for systems that are yet to be equipped with storage or for ones where the solar array is under-dimensioned with respect to the load. In the latter case, the self-production capability is rather low whilst the photovoltaic self-consumption reaches a maximum of 100%. Since all photovoltaic production is consumed by the loads, there is no need to store energy.

The Off-Grid mode is used to electrify the so called isolated sites, having no connection to the public electricity grid. Photovoltaic production will be used to to charge the battery, the loads will be fed by PV production supplemented by the battery once the battery is ready for discharge. If the site requires uninterrupted power supply, the inverter can be coupled with an auxiliary GenSet, which will be triggered by the inverter’s built-in relay, to supplement the solar production after the battery reaches a predefined depth of discharge.

Unlike vast majority of the inverters on the market, the IMEON photovoltaic inverter is a truly scalable device.

Every IMEON incorporates a Texas Instruments ARM Cortex processor and 8 GB of memory, that is to say it embeds a real computer. Its large storage capacity is foreseen for future updates and downloadable applications available through the IMEON Manager software. These applications will keep evolving your photovoltaic inverter. As they come out, they will allow it to adapt to technological developments as well as regulatory changes that may occur. Because of modular software architecture, the photovoltaic IMEON inverter has the capacity to keep up with new emerging technologies, such as the Internet of Thing (IoT), Smart Home or electric mobility.

Having an embedded artificial intelligence gives IMEON photovoltaic inverter the ability to learn and therefore to anticipate and predict. By understanding its environment and the patterns of energy consumption a little better each day, the inverter can adapt its own operation in order to better respect the instructions given to it during configuration, such as favoring self-consumption or operating in back-up mode…

IMEON is the only solar inverter on the market that has these capabilities to evolve fast and far. To buy an IMEON photovoltaic inverter today, it is to forget about the obsolescence of the product. It’s an investment in an energy manager that will develop on its own by downloading new applications and thus will become the heart and brains of the solar system.

The application OS. ONE of Imeon Energy integrates a smart battery management system called Battery Manager.
Battery Manager automatically configures the solar battery associated with the inverter.
Specifically, when installing the battery so its connection to the inverter (power and communication), the installer can go into the settings of the OS. ONE and choose the batteries tab. He can then choose the brand and type of battery in the pre-filled list.
Attention, only the batteries compatible with the IMEON appear in this list. They have all been tested and validated by the technical departments of Imeon Energy and the solar battery manufacturer.
When the battery is turned on, Battery Manager automatically detects the battery and displays a green status.

The battery manager application, will then configure the IMEON with the parameters recommended by the manufacturer of the battery (charging voltage, charging current and discharge).
The installer can then configure the level of use of the solar battery according to the needs of the user. That is to say, to favor the consumption on the battery or the backup mode.
Battery Manager also optimizes the life of the batteries by giving the possibility to allow the battery discharge only in the evening and at night, ie when there is no longer any energy production coming from photovoltaic panels.
Coupled with the Charging Controller application, it is also possible to activate one or more complete charges of the battery by the grid.

Battery Manager is a smart application that for example detects if the battery connected to the IMEON is the one that is declared. It ensures that the parameters of the battery manufacturer are respected by the inverter in order to preserve the guarantee of the solar battery. In the event of non-production of the solar panels (lack of prolonged charge), it prevents the battery from falling to a critical level of charge which could damage it by taking on the grid. In this case in off-grid mode, it will turn off the inverter. Finally, to ensure total security, it communicates permanently with the BMS (battery management system) via the CAN port of the inverter.
