Is it normal that the public grid charges the batteries all the time?

If the batteries are permanently charged by the public electricity distribution network it is because the IMEON has been programmed to work in this way.

To change this parameter, connect to the IMEON OS. ONE. In the “battery” tab menu you can disable or enable battery charging by the network. If you allow it, you must program a time slot during which the batteries will be charged by the network. Please note, if you program the time slot from 00:00 to 00:00, the batteries will be permanently charged by the network.

Is it normal that the IMEON inverter does not inject the surplus of power to the grid?

If the IMEON inverter does not inject the surplus power into the grid, it is likely that the IMEON has been programmed to operate in this way.

To change this parameter, connect to the IMEON OS. ONE, go to the “settings” tab and then “flow management”. In this menu, you can enable or disable injection to the grid.

How to verify if the Smart Meter communicates with IMEON?

To ensure that communication is established between IMEON inverter and the Smart-Meter, check the following:

The RS4585A port LEDs flash.
A phone icon is displayed on the Smart-Meter screen.
An icon representing a counter is displayed in the upper right corner of the IMEON OS. ONE.

The solar inverter does not synchronize with the grid

If your IMEON solar inverter does not synchronize with the public electricity grid, ask your installer to check the following:

Is the voltage and frequency of the public network within the standards applicable in your country? The applicable standards require, depending on the zone, that the inverter disconnects from the grid when the voltage (and / or frequency) goes out of a predefined range.
Have the nodes of all the phases, neutral and earth been properly connected to the “Grid Connection” connector of the IMEON hybrid inverter? If this is not the case, ask your installer to rewire the connector.
In the case of an installation with a three-phase IMEON inverter, has the phase rotation been taken into account? In other words is the phase L1 connected to L1 terminal (L2 to L2 terminal, L3 to L3 terminal) of the AC connector? If this is not the case, ask your installer to rewire the connector.

If, after checking the list above, the IMEON inverter still cannot synchronize with the public electricity distribution network, ask your installer to contact IMEON ENERGY technical support.

The inverter consumes a lot of electricity from the grid.

The power consumption of the IMEON inverter itself is a few tens of watts (15 to 40W for the IMEON 3.6 depending on mode of operation). In most cases, higher power consumption does not originate from the IMEON inverter but from another electrical device present in the installation.

To measure the actual power consumption of the IMEON inverter, ask your installer to do the following:

Disconnect the solar panels from the IMEON inverter by opening the dedicated circuit breaker.
Disconnect the batteries from the IMEON inverter by opening the dedicated circuit breaker.
Disconnect all electrical devices connected to the IMEON “AC Output” (or AC Backup) by opening the dedicated circuit breaker.
Disconnect all electrical devices placed between measurement point and the “AC Grid Connection” connector of the IMEON Inverter.
Make sure that only the IMEON Inverter is powered by the public grid.
Measure the power consumption of the inverter using a calibrated power meter.
Be sure to measure the active power and not the apparent power.

If, after following this process, your installer notices a consumption which seems abnormal, ask him to contact the technical support of IMEON ENERGY.

The inverter’s display indicates “Overload”

If the display of the IMEON inverter indicates an overload, it means that the power consumption measured on the IMEON’s “AC Output” (or AC Backup output) exceeds the power rating of the inverter. Be careful, high, frequent or long lasting overloads can damage the inverter.

To solve this problem, call your installer. It’s necessary to rewire the installation, making sure that the “AC Output” only supplies devices consuming the total power which will never exceed the power rating of the inverter (see data sheets IMEON ENERGY).

If necessary, ask your installer to contact IMEON ENERGY technical support.

On commissioning, the circuit breaker between the grid and the solar inverter opens unexpectedly

Use a suitable circuit breaker between the public grid and the solar inverter as well as between the inverter and the consumers. When the grid and photovoltaic modules produce together, the intensity absorbed is greater. Verify and identify phase and neutral by measuring Phase / Neutral, Phase / Earth and Neutral / Earth voltages.

No power is displayed on the AC Backup Output of the inverter’s LCD.

In the event that no power is indicated on the IMEON AC output, ask your installer to make verify the following:

Is the output activated? If this is not the case, press the “OK” button located next to the LCD for 3 seconds (you’ll hear a beep when AC output is online). Once the output is activated, a house and an arrow will appear on the LCD screen.
Was the IMEON wired according to the instructions in the installation guide? If this is not the case, ask your installer to rewire the AC output’s connector or the connected loads.
