By purchasing a self-consumption solar system with storage and an IMEON hybrid inverter, the user saves a lot of money on his electricity bill. Once the system components are acquired, the user benefits from free electricity generated by a resource which has no limit – the solar energy. To live in a house with free electricity is to take a big step towards energy independence.

In addition to financial benefit of free electricity, producing the necessary energy for the needs of your home is part of an approach similar to growing your garden or cutting wood to heat your home. The motivations that have driven users of IMEON solutions to make their homes self-sufficient are diverse, but the ones that stand out most frequently are:

The feeling of “freedom” that comes from producing the electricity.

The satisfaction of benefiting from free electricity once the equipment is acquired.

Security of electricity supply detached from the economic, political (etc.) context.

The satisfaction of contributing to a sustainable energy model by abandoning the polluting energy sources.

Thanks to the technological progress and the declining prices of solar panels and batteries, living in an autonomous house is no longer a utopia. It is now possible and increasingly affordable to bypass the conventional electricity suppliers without sacrificing comfort.

One of the advantages of solar installations is also the lifespan of photovoltaic modules. Most of the photovoltaic panels manufacturers give guarantees of 10 years or more and the feedback from the field shows that the lifespan of solar panels very often exceeds 30 years. This lifetime allows users to invest for the long term and to benefit from free electricity for years to come.

The IPCC (organization mandated by the UN) has highlighted the relationship between greenhouse gas emissions and natural disasters (floods, tsunamis, global warming …). The reduction of CO2 emissions related to consumption of energy is therefore one of the main armaments in the fight against climate change. The recent Fukushima nuclear disaster has refocused the public on risks related to generation of nuclear energy. There is therefore a global interest in advancing clean energy generation, which, due to expected overall positive impact is also nicknamed positive energy. As a consequence in Europe, the member states have set a goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions and increasing the share of renewable energy in total energy consumption by 2020.

In addition to the proven economic aspect, being equipped with a solar installation combine with batteries to produce its own electricity (self-consumption – self-production), is a sustainable investment contributing to the reduction of CO2 emissions and the development of a new and inevitable energy model.

Positive energy homes are meant to contribute to the wellbeing of the planet.

Positive energy homes and territories are growing and are a big step towards contributing to durable development of the planet. Solar energy is the most efficient source of renewable energy, it is free, unlimited and it is the easiest to access for property owners willing to produce electricity by themselves. The concept of a positive energy self-sufficient house dictates that the house must be able to cover the full energy demand by prioritizing free and renewable energies over the fossil fuels. The energy generated by the positive energy home’s solar system can be used for self-consumption or sold to an electricity distributor, or both. To reduce the dependence on harmful fossil fuels, IMEON ENERGY has developed a revolutionary hybrid inverter, IMEON, to contribute to the wellbeing of the planet by giving priority to renewable energies to produce its electricity in the positive energy home.

Global warming is nowadays a very important topic and it is urgent to react for the sake of future generations. One of the most important sources of the global warming is the increase of carbon energy consumption in the world. In fact, over the past 20 years, global consumption of carbon energy has doubled. On top of that, the price of kWh of electricity is increasing every quarter.

The solution to these problems is to achieve energy independence. Energy self-sufficiency means separating from electricity suppliers by self-producing renewable energy.

The IMEON Hybrid Inverter, as an all-in-one unit with integrated MPPT solar controller, battery charger, backup output and a public network input, is the ideal system for maximally self-sufficient house.

IMEON Hybrid Inverter is able to manage multiple sources of power in real time, in order to supply the connected loads. Unlike the traditional inverters which feed all the solar electricity to grid without knowing the consumption of the house, the IMEON hybrid inverter will use only the necessary solar production to supply the loads. The excess solar energy production will be used to recharge the battery. It is also possible to configure the inverter to block injection to the public electricity network in case of overproduction (low consumption and full battery). In this case, the inverter will automatically adjust the MPPT controller to reduce the production.

This process makes it possible to shift the use of the energy produced over daytime to use it when the solar production is no longer sufficient to supply the consumption of the building, by discharging the battery. The rate of self-production will therefore increase with aim to get as close as possible to 100% to have a self-sufficient house.

IMEON Hybrid Inverter can also learn from an AI (Artificial Intelligence) that allows it to make decisions, learn consumption patterns and therefore adapt the flow of energy in order to further increase the energy independence of the house and make the most of free electricity.
